While boring, it does provide a solid foundation and practices to refresh memory/drill the concepts into your head. Good texts, helpful and nice assignment problems Much much much better than Gilbert Strang's book. Strang seemed like a very nice guy when I saw him speak, but his book is no match for Lay's in terms of doing awesome things like making wonderful lists of all the 50 different statements that mean the same thing (for example: determinant of matrix is nonzero <-> matrix has full rank <-> matrix's columns are linearly independent <-> etc... ). It's just so well organized, well explained, and well written! And I can add that it's a very handy referen.. I thought this book did a really good job of clearly explaining the concepts, highlighting the key information, and presenting useful examples. It also comes with a study guide on CD: a real life-saver. My only criticism is the answers at the back of the book are snarky: they often don't give the answers because "you should try to do the problem before looking at the solution. "

Esta distancia se mide según el número de notas y la distancia en tonos y medios tonos que exista entre estas. Ejemplos: C a Db = Segunda menor, es segunda por la distancia en notas (C, D) y es menor por que la distancia en tonos es de medio tono. D a G = Cuarta justa, es una cuarta por la distancia de notas (D E F G), es justa por la cantidad de tonos que en este caso es de dos y medio. E a C# = Sexta mayor, es sexta por la distancia en notas (E F G A B C#), es mayor por la cantidad de tonos, en este caso tenemos una distancia de cuatro tonos y medio.
